Dublin University top the table after they completed an emphatic 145 runs victory over North Kildare at College Park.

Skipper Will von Behr led by example top scoring with 64 as they posted 208 on a difficult track. He and Irish international George Dockrell then took three wickets each as Kildare were skittled for just 63.

"We we were delighted to win and it was a fairly comprehensive victory too getting full points," said Dockrell. "Will (von Behr) led from the front scoring a very fluent 60 on a pitch that was very hard to bat on. In the context of the game that knock was exceptional and along with his spell of 3-3 he was the stand out player.

"It's a very promising start to the season and leads us nicely into a crunch match against Merrion next week who will be favourites for a top two finish I think.

"Personally nice to get another good spell under my belt going into the interpro game on Monday and then the England series next week."

Man-of-the-Match Will von Behr echoed Dockrell's sentiments reflecting on a job well done: "It was a very comprehensive win and superb team performance. Mike (Hogan) and I got off to a solid start and some smart batting from Conor Hoey carried our score above 200.

"Once again the bowlers were excellent, particularly George, and our discipline in the field backed up their efforts nicely. It’s a great feeling to go into this two week break at the top of table."
